I started working with Jo when my third child was about 8 weeks old. My body was – unsurprisingly! – in a bit of a state, and I was desperate to feel fitter, stronger and, most importantly, like me again. Gradually, over the weeks, Jo built up my strength, stamina and confidence. It has made a huge difference to my post baby recovery, and I’m so grateful to her for her commitment, and for providing such an effective programme every week, that really targets my individual goals and needs. Since I started my sessions, I have completed a couple of coastal 10k endurance runs, and am now contemplating an Olympic triathlon as my next target. Most importantly, though, Jo is both understanding and incredibly fun to work with and I genuinely look forward to every session with her (with just the right amount of trepidation about the challenge that awaits…). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jo to anybody who is looking to achieve their health and fitness goals, post baby or otherwise.

Having not done any exercise for almost 3 years, 1 year after the birth of my daughter, one dress size up and feeling physically very unfit, I decided it was time I had to make a change. I saw an advert for Freemind Fitness on a Facebook group I was part of. I contacted Jo and we spoke on the phone initially and then met face to face. Jo was accommodative of my current physique and personal requirements. She tailored an exercise programme to my needs, gradually increasing and challenging my fitness levels over a few weeks. She takes great attention to correct technique whilst exercising. She created new work out programmes every week keeping the exercises varied and interesting. Jo is an excellent PT. She is very supportive and motivational. She was flexible to timings and very punctual. I am now in a better shape and physique even prior to my pregnancy and I have Jo to thank for this. Jo is truly magnificent.

I have never been one for hitting the gym – it just doesn’t interest me. However I turned to Jo when I felt like I needed an outlet to burn off some steam and free my mind from a demanding time at work.

Jo was fantastic at getting to understand how hard she could push me really quickly- making me feel like I was actually achieving something – not only better abs but I also felt so much better mentally after the sessions. She has made the time we spend not only effective but surprisingly enjoyable- the 12 days of Xmas session being a particular highlight!! Can’t recommend Jo highly enough!

Jo was the ideal person to help me kickstart my postnatal fitness campaign.  She took the time to listen to what it was I hoped to achieve from our sessions together and has developed a weekly fitness regime tailored to my specific needs and requests.  She was careful to ensure that the basics of posture and pelvic floor were looked after and has taught me strength routines, flexibility and core work.  Every week is varied and our hour together goes by so quickly!  She has also been amazing with my baby, holding her when necessary for the whole hour so that I could work out when she wouldn’t be put down!  I feel more toned and confident and wouldn’t have had the motivation to do this without her.

I have had a few PT sessions with Jo now and cannot speak highly enough of her. She listens to what you want to achieve and tailors a program that is both challenging and fun. During the sessions Jo always communicates why you are doing a certain exercise which I find motivating. She get the balance right for me with a challenge – so you ache the next day and making it a fun experience. Jo gets results by working with you on the whole package – exercise but also the importance of clean eating and the right attitude.  I thoroughly recommend anyone looking for a PT to use Jo.

For someone who loved to run (completed a couple of marathons and half marathons) and absolutely loved going to the gym (enjoyed HIT and strength training) I found that my body had suffered some post pregnancy trauma which meant I needed to ease back into training. I worked with Jo from when I was 16 weeks postpartum with a personal objective to regain my fitness, stamina and strength to pre-pregnancy. I now realise had I done this alone without Jo’s help I may have overdone it too quickly after giving birth, potentially caused myself injury and felt frustrated for not being able to do what I could before. Jo’s expertise and guidance helped me to gain my level of fitness at the right pace without rushing it and allowed me to work on specific areas which I needed to strengthen, including my pelvic floor. Not only was it about regaining my level of fitness it was about having the confidence to do what I could before my pregnancy. I’ve really enjoyed working with Jo, my little one has truly adored watching us train together and having Jo look after him so I that could really benefit and maximise each training session has been an added bonus. I look forward to working with Jo in the future…after baby no. 2! Thank you Jo.
