Services

Before we start any exercises, we always have a free consultation session where there are a couple of quick forms to complete about you, your health and exercise history. This is when I can find out more about your goals and any barriers to exercising.  This session allows you to share important information and also to ask any questions you may have about working with a Personal Trainer. I love to exercise outside and try to make use of our beautiful surroundings. The fresh air and open space can really benefit mental health, boost your mood and you get a burst of vitamin D too. Obviously this is weather dependent so we have alternatives too.

“Jo gets results by working with you on the whole package – exercise but also the importance of clean eating and the right attitude”

One to One

Having someone working with just you, who knows and understanding your preferences and ability and holds your accountable is a great way to focus on your fitness. My client’s goals range from weight loss and event training, from postnatal return to exercise or just needing to let off some steam and generally get fitter.  I’m here to work with you, keep you on track, injury free and hopefully have some fun along the way. Sessions can be in your home, garden or local outdoor space and I will provide all equipment. It may include cardio or strength work, circuits and core workouts, balance and co-ordination exercises or a combination of these.

Buddy Sessions

Working out with a friend can be really motivating, be it the healthy competition, confidence and fun or the shared cost, it works really well for people.

Workouts are designed for the session and can be tweaked to accommodate your own individual requirements and fitness levels.

Sessions can run with up to 5 people, so get a little group together, maybe NCT or playgroup friends or mums after school drop off and come along for a social and challenging workout.

Menopause

Every women will experience this natural stage in life differently as your hormones start to change and symptoms vary widely, hence why a personalized approach is so important.

It can be daunting, frustrating and confusing. Education and knowledge can take away some of the fear and I will work with you to share information and help you to navigate this phase of life. This may include the appropriate exercises (so important for bone/muscle/heart health), focus on pelvic floor health, nutrition, stress, sleep management and lifestyle changes which may be contributing to your symptoms.

The aim is to improve your overall wellbeing and find joy in life through enjoyable activity and informed choices.

Postnatal

After having a baby, it can be really hard to get back into exercise, to know what is safe and how to move our different bodies in the most beneficial way. Areas of focus in these sessions cover posture, dealing with tummy separation (diastasis), pelvic floor issues, stretch and release work and building your overall fitness and strength. Exercises are designed to help you in your functional life as a new mum. You will come away feeling energised, but not exhausted…you are probably already feeling pretty tired anyway! Babies are welcome to join you and I’m used to keeping them entertained too. You may prefer to exercise in your home during nap time, or even out in the park with the buggy.

“I felt confident the exercises were safe and suitable for my post- c section body, and it didn’t take long to see and feel the results.”
